Wirreanda Park

Wirreanda Park

A century ago an avenue of Weeping Fig Trees was planted off King Street atop a gentle crest.

They once marked the entry to a homestead occupied by the Lindsay Family before it was sold at a later date and subsequently subdivided.

By then the trees had grown to form a delightful, extended arch of foliage.

That avenue and patch of land was given to the people of Buderim as a park .

There is a large amount of parking available on King Street and in Short Street down the side. The park has recently enjoyed a substantial refurbishment to enhance and protect the avenue of trees, in celebration of their centenary.
This avenue is the principal feature of the park which attracts picnickers and families with an electric barbecue, covered picnic tables and terrific swings for childrenOn any weekend the air in the park is filled with laughter and sounds of children at play as families enjoy Buderim’s great outdoors on their doorstep.
