BUDERIM CELEBRATES AUSTRALIA DAY JAN 26 2012
The Australia Day Parade will be the first event of the exciting B150 year. You are invited to participate in this very special event – Buderim’s Australia Day 2012 celebrations.
The parade, organised by the BWMCA, (Buderim War Memorial Community Association) is the traditional highlight of the day. This is the only parade on Australia Day on the Sunshine Coast. Your entry in the Parade is FREE!
$200.00 Prizes for the best participating organisation in the following categories will be awarded as under:

1. Youth Organisation
2. Sporting Organisation
3. Charity Organisation
4. Commercial
5. School
When: Thursday, 26 January 2012. Marshalling will start at 8.15am for commencement of the parade at 9.00am. The starting point is from the Woolworths Car Park in Burnett Street. The parade will go down Burnett Street, finishing at the Buderim War Memorial Hall.
This is an opportunity to promote your organisation to a large audience which includes our local community, visitors and their families who make up close to 5,000 people who join each other for a day of fun, celebrating our National Day each year.
To assist with the judging, all organisations should be easily identifiable. Music is welcome to help make the parade festive. Each float or group will be announced over the loudspeaker as they pass the Old Post Office. We encourage you to dress up and bring a banner if you have one remembering the theme of the Parade.
We look forward to your participation to make this a day to remember for all. Please return the Entry Form (below) to the Parade Co-Ordinator by closing date of Friday 02 Dec 2011 to the Old Post Office or PO Box 156 Buderim Q 4556 and mark to the attention of Meg Scott. You will need to supply a Certificate of Currency from your Insurer to the same address prior to participating in the parade.
You will be advised in January of other details to assist with your day’s activities. As usual, Rotary Club members will be on hand to meet you at the start of the parade. Please take their direction in the assembly of the Parade for the safety of all participants.
The parade is always a huge success and brings lots of enjoyment to spectators and participants. It is a Buderim tradition on our National Day.
